森づくり More Trees
港区が地球温暖化対策として、あきる野の森林整備事業に取り組んだことは大きな可能性の始まりです。CO2の吸収源としての重要性はもちろん、生物多様性や水がめとしての機能を思うとき、森の存在の大きさは計り知れません。千年後の人類のために残せるインフラは森しかありません。文明論的あるいは形而上学的なアプローチからも森づくりの意味と価値に向かいます。
It was a very bright circumstance when we think back of Minato City starting the Akiruno City forestry maintenance operation as a countermeasure against global warming. The importance of forests is immense as an existence of absorbing CO2 and furthermore nourishing various types of lives and stocking water. The infrastructure that we can leave for humans a thousand years later can only be the forests. From the viewpoint of civilization and abstract science, we will keep on pursuing to produce the meanings and values of cultivating forests.
